变速器之调整可以避免落链、异音、并使变速顺畅，对骑乘很重要，其操作其实不难。变速器的调整分成三大部分，配合图形，大家慢慢看下去吧，也欢迎朋友们一起讨论。
以下是以前3后7，21速的车子为例
开始之前先介绍3个调整机构：

（1）链条和脱轨器的距离叫间距
（2）由两颗螺丝组成，旁边有标示HIGH和LOW，H调整大齿间距，L调整小齿间距
（3）顺时针转变小
（4）前2时，调整H/L是没用的，也就是说它是针对前1和前3，其原理大家弯腰探一下就知道了，靠两颗螺丝顶住脱轨器

注：（2）和（3）的作用一样，原则上维修时以调整（3）为主，但在行驶中可调整（2）以求便利。
（4）以上调整钮每次以调整1/4圈为原则，逆时钟旋出时变速线会拉紧
　a.以前变而言，会使脱轨器向外移动
　b.以后变而言，会使脱轨器向内移动

1、切至前3后7，调前后H钮→可防止落链和解决外侧齿轮变速不易
（1）调整前HIGH钮至间距最小但不会磨到，若太大则前3后2或1时会磨到。

（2）后1变到2，调整后脱轨器上调整钮，使变速顺畅，且没有磨擦声,依序变至7并调整。再由7变回1，看看哪个档位不顺再调整。

首先认识一下大致结构。变速器的基本原理都一样，通过平行四边形结构平移导轮或导链槽，改变链条位置。后拨的导向轮固定链条的位置，而张力轮保证链条有一定的张力，能够紧紧地裹在齿轮上。
　　张力轮固定在摆臂上，由弹簧拉进。由于山地车飞轮齿数范围大，而公路车齿数变化范围小，所以山地的后拨摆臂通常都是较长的，以配合较大的链条的松紧变化。
　　下面开始说如何调校
　　第一步：确认各根线管位置都正确，都卡入了车架的卡口里，变速线也安装正确。然后将变速调节螺丝拧紧后松回3圈，变速拨杆上的调节螺丝也类似调整。
　　将线尽量拉直，锁紧后变速器上的刹线固定螺丝。
　　公路车的过线座
　　第二步：将拨杆拨到中间档，比如第4档。然后调节后拨上的变速调节螺丝。使得链条在相对应的齿片上时，导向轮和齿片在同一平面上。
　　第三步：调节限位螺丝：限位螺丝功能是防止链条掉出最小一片齿轮外或者卷入飞轮和钢丝之间。
　　可以先调最小片齿轮。松开变速扳手到最小档。看最小齿轮和导轮是否在同一平面。否则调节螺丝。通常标着H。调节到同一平面。
　　然后调节大齿轮一边。不同的是先放松L一侧螺丝，等链条挂上去以后再拧紧到两个齿轮同一平面。
　　这样基本上就调节好了。
　　接下来就是试一下。先空转变速试试。正常应该很柔顺，没有跳动。如果向上变速不能及时到位，就说明线拉得不够，就要把调节螺丝逆时针转出来一点看看，通常半圈半圈的调节就够了。如果变速下不去，就松一点点。然后骑一下看看。通常新换的变速线，变速一段时间后需要稍微调整一下。
