List of GamersGate games you can activate on Steam
GamersGate Games you can activate on Steam
Steam does not take Laser Cards so I decided to make a thread about all the games you can buy from GamersGate with a laser card which you can then activate on Steam. Feel free to post games I have not listed as I am sure to not get them all. Will update as necessary.

* = Use your Gamespy key to activate it on Steam.
** = Use your Gamespy key to activate it on Steam. Due to technical reasons all versions will be recognized and activated as Standard Edition
*** = This is compatible with Steam's version of Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum. Installer will automatically install Mysteries of Westgate for use with the Steam version NW2 Platinum, to be on the safe side, it might then be best to set NW2: Platinum to &Do not automatically update this game&.
**** = Saints Row 2 is very iffy when it comes to gamersgate and Steam. Apparently you CAN redeem the GG key on steam but it will be the German Censored version.
It has since been confirmed that they have changed the cd key to the retail version so all should be well now.

Yeah it seems GamersGate doesnt supply cd keys for some of those games (Velvet Assassin). So you can't activate them on Steam. Other online distributors such as Amazon Digital can be activated through Steam. Just not the GamersGate version unfortunately

I can confirm that GamersGate keys for Race 07, STCC and GTR Evolution all activate on Steam.
(edit: FWIW there are 2 versions of STCC on GamersGate,
is simply an expansion for Race 07 and the
is a bundle including Race 07 itself.)

Also, although I cannot confirm this, I've seen complaints (via Twitter and at least one fan site that I unfortunately cannot remember the name of) that adding the key for Saints Row to Steam unlocks the low violence German language version of the game. So people may not want to add that one to Steam.
Perhaps someone with experience of this one can confirm?

Are you sure I'll get a CD-key to use on Steam for Metro 2033? It's going to be 75% off tomorrow on GG and I'm thinking of getting it there.

100% sure. Metro requires steam to run.

Said so in an email to me by GG. Apparently it's THQ Week on there.
Tomorrow (Friday) it's Metro 2033 (75% off), Saturday Company of Heroes Complete Pack 50% off and on Sunday the Red Faction Complete Pack will be 60% off. Warhammer 40K: DoW II is on sale today according to the thread you can activate it on Steam.
Also, if you're interested in Metro 2033 there's a demo of it available, just not on Steam. Google it.
