The Survival Horror Labyrinth
Monstrum finds players stranded aboard a vast, derelict ship filled with traps, environmental hazards, and another passenger in the shape of a terrifying and deadly beast. With no means to take their pursuer down the player must search the ship to discover a possible means of escape, using their wits and guile to evade the monster hunting them, running, hiding and luring it away with distractions to avoid getting killed.
Combining permadeath, a variety of different hunters and a procedurally generated ship that changes its layout every time, Monstrum is a challenging and punishing game that aims to be a truly replayable horror experience.
We're happy to announce that the Mac and Linux versions of Monstrum are now available! We've also added the OST to Steam for download too.
And for those waiting: we're hoping to have more news about the Oculus Rift version very soon!

Improved monster wander states. The monsters should move further away from the player after an encounter
Improved monsters going around corners
Doors should behave more intuitively with respect to how they handle the player moving in and out of them
Brute footsteps
Improved issue where monsters could get stuck in steam by the helicopter
Fixed misc menu issues
Hunter goop should disappear correctly
Player should no longer be able to run out of a hiding spot when being pulled out
Hunter should no longer walk constantly in to a hiding spot
Monsters should not get stuck at distractions
Fixed issue with monster not pulling player out of hiding spots
Added collision boxes to certain areas to prevent player climbing where they shouldn't
Fixed issue where the player could get back in to the starting area

Controller analogue sticks can sometimes not work in the Mac version
Field of view slider can reset intermittently if changed in game
Locker doors can occasionally get the player temporarily caught between the door and the locker body

Valve changed something. Fixed code to compensate.
It accesses the steam store website through
and , to check for changes in specials and saves those changes in the database. This occurs, at most, once an hour each day between 9am and 9pm PST. Ideally, I'd like to check only once a day, but I've seen sales get added and removed at all times of day.
When there is a large amount of games on sale, this site will step 30 sales at a time every 3 minutes, until a full update occurs.
If this site does not have an local image for a game, it will download the image from steam and save it server-side.
PNG images and
XML files are generated server-side when requested, if the database entries have changed.
