Cartman gathers all the boys of South Park and convinces them all to log in at the same time in order to execute a massive retaliatory attack on the griefer. However, once the battle begins, the griefer summons giant
and easily dispatches the boys' characters. Cartman convinces Stan, Kyle, and Kenny to keep playing. For the next two months, the boys play the game for 21 hours a day, killing low-level boars in the game's forests to gain experience points. In the process, the boys become lazy, long-haired, obese and acne-ridden. The boys' characters grow so quickly that the Blizzard executives, who have also been monitoring the griefer, take notice and believe they might have a chance.
Determined to help the boys slay the griefer, the executives decide to give the boys the Sword of a Thousand Truths, a weapon so powerful that it was removed from the game and stored on a

The episode uses
in many of its scenes to create a better emulation of the game. It was originally scheduled to air as the 145th episode, but was delayed because of difficulties in creating the machinima.
South Park creators
collaborated with
to craft the machinima used in the episode. They stated in their commentary for the episode that they were completely shocked that the company was on board to help them out. The machinima scenes were created using shots of the in-game footage, and re-creation of the characters in , with Blizzard Entertainment providing their own character models and computers to test with. Blizzard also gave the producers permission to use the alpha server of the expansion pack
on which to shoot the scenes. , president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, issued a statement over the collaboration:
"We were excited to hear that the creators of South Park were interested in featuring World of Warcraft in the opening of their new season, and we really enjoyed collaborating with them to make this happen. We're looking forward to sharing the experience with our employees and our players as well when the season debuts this week."
As a reference to the episode, certain South Park Season 10 DVDs include a 14-day free trial for World of Warcraft. This did not affect the UK release of this season in 2009.
Since the airing of the episode, the fictitious Sword of a Thousand Truths was featured in the
beta test as a reward to the game's arena system, although it did not have the same capabilities as in the episode.
Although the planning of the episode and data-collecting began on September 1, 2006, the actual production of the machinima was done in five "shooting" days, the first being September 20, 2006, which lasted about 3–5 hours, and the last being October 3, 2006. The regular South Park animation was created simultaneously, with all the other non-machinima episodes of the series routinely finishing within 12 hours of their airing as well.
Parker was deeply unhappy with the episode in the day preceding its broadcast, remarking to the show's producers, "I've lost it. I don’t know how to do this anymore." He begged executive producer
to call Comedy Central and inform them that the show would not air, remarking, "I don’t want the South Park legacy to be ruined, and this show is going to ruin it, because it’s so bad." Parker went home unable to sleep and was surprised the following day that the episode was so well received.
In patch 3.0.2, preceding the release of the World of Warcraft expansion pack, , Blizzard included a "Make Love, Not Warcraft" PvP achievement, gained by using the "hug" emote on a dead enemy before they release their spirit.
The fictitious video game played by Butters, : Island Adventure, was referenced in a 2008
joke by the actual MMORPG , announcing an "Island Adventure" expansion for the game, boasting a reduction of content rather than an "expansion", leaving players stranded on a tropical island.
Also, in the Wrath of the Lich King remake of the Naxxramas raid instance, a sword called Slayer of the Lifeless was added, bearing the flavour text "Foretold by Salzman", as a reference to Salzman from accounting and a weapon capable of killing that which has no life. The model of the weapon is the same as the one used for the Sword of a Thousand Truths.
"Make Love, Not Warcraft" received critical acclaim. , a multimedia news and reviews website, reviewed the episode and gave it an overall rating of 9.3, labeling it as "one of the funniest episodes ever produced". The original television airing of the episode drew 3.4 million viewers, most between the ages of 18 and 49. This popularity made the episode Comedy Central's highest-rated midseason premiere since the year 2000. However, the highest ratings for the tenth season belong to the season's premiere, "", which drew more than 3.5 million viewers. In 2007, this episode won the
for . Fans voted the episode into 1st place in a major 2011 South Park voting held under the "Year of the Fan" iTunes promotion.
"Make Love, Not Warcraft", along with the thirteen other episodes from South Park's tenth season, was released on a three-disc DVD set in the United States on August 21, 2007. The set includes brief audio commentaries by series co-creators
for each episode.

disaster-stricken Japan.
The event will run from April 1 to April 10, 2011. Despite the date, this is NOT an April's fool joke.
&HKO Japan Earthquake Aid Part 2April 1 - 10, 2011 &
As in the previous event, HKO players will be asked to
contribute their time to help the people of Japan, which a few weeks
ago was devastated by . The
scale of this disaster is enormous and that’s why we have announced this
follow-up charity event with new and improved mechanics to allow you to
maximize your contributions.

At the end of the event, Sanrio Digital will count the total

large-scale crises.
If you are interested in donating directly, or do not have

NOTE: GLOBIS is no longer matching donations because they
have already reached their ceiling (which is great news). However, they are still
accepting donations until the end of April.
New Mechanics: Choose a Tier that's suitable for you&
We’ve made some changes to the event
mechanics in order to give everyone a chance to participate, regardless of
level, progress in the game, and farm ownership.
There are now four tiers of
donation items, each worth a certain number of donation points. The higher the
tier, the higher the donation points. Simply pick the tier that suits you,
obtain those items, and hand them in to a Game Master (GM).
With each hand-in, you generate donation points. In addition, when you reach or
exceed 40 points in this event, you will receive a special brand new reward to commemorate
your generous efforts.
The fastest way to obtain the
reward is to work on the highest tier that your character is capable of. The higher the tier, the more donation points you generate and the quicker you get to the reward. Please do
try to reserve Tier 1 for newbies and low level characters.
Requirements
TIER 1 (one set is worth 3.5 points)
Dark Opal Basil x 35
Clover x 35
Prerequisites:Must have reached Sanrio Harbour
TIER 2 (one set is worth 5 points)
Cherry Tree Wood x 100
Prerequisites:
Woodcutting level 2Planting level 2Must have reached Floralopolis
TIER 3 (one set is worth 6 points)
Green Tea Leafx 100
Prerequisites:
Planting level 3Gathering level 3Must have reached London
TIER 4 (one set is worth 11 points)
Veggie Tempura x 50
Prerequisites:
Cooking level 6Planting level 5Gathering level 5Farm level 4Must have reached Paris
Instructions
Step 1: Gather the items required in any one tier. You can gather items for multiple
tiers, if you wish, but please reserve Tier 1 for newbies and low-level
characters.
Step 2: Give the item sets you’ve gathered to a Game
Master (GM) at Sanrio
Harbour during the
event period. You must hand in exact amounts – for example, at Tier 4 you need
to hand in Veggie Tempura in multiples of 50.
Step 3: You will earn
donation points corresponding to which tier of items you hand in. Obtain 40 or more points to get the event reward. Note that the higher the tier, the faster you generate
donation points, so do not waste time at lower tiers if you are a high level character.
Step 4: Repeat as many times as you want to increase
the total donation amount. You can continue to hand in items even after you get your event reward - we will count every single (complete) submission when it is time to calculate the charity payment.&
Every time you hand in a set of the required items, you are
adding to a point tally. At the end of the event we will calculate the final
Event Special Prize
Earn 40 donation points or more to receive a Tokyo Outfit as reward for participation (maximum 1 per character). This is a brand new item of clothing that looks truly spiffy.&
Remember: every set you hand in equals a higher donation
toward relief efforts in Japan.
There is no limit on the number of times you can hand in items. Thank you
and see you in the game!
