Addon & Mod Feature Settings
Last Updated: Aug 10, AM PDT
With the Twitch App you can customize how you would like the Twitch App to handle your addon and mod experience. This is a collection of some of the most common settings and customization options.
Index (click to jump):
For many of these you will need to go into your Settings. This is fairly easy to do.
Open the Twitch App, and click on the Mods section, and select your game (i.e., Rift, WoW, Wildstar, TESO, TSW, WoT, etc.).
Now click on the cogwheel in the upper right corner of your addons page.
From the drop down menu click on Settings.
Some gamers want to bypass the social landing page in the Twitch App, and go straight to their addons. Well, the Twitch App has the option to do just that!
you will want to be in the General tab.
Scroll to SHOW MY ADDONS AT LAUNCH. Make sure this is toggled so it is green if you want it to launch directly to your addons and red if you want it to launch to the original landing page.
Click DONE, and the next time you launch the Twitch App it will take you directly to your addons!
If you want to make sure you have your addons up to date when you go to log into World of Warcraft, but you do not want to check to see if there are any addons to be updated, you can use our auto-update feature.
you will want to be in the GAME SPECIFIC tab.
You will need to set up your Addon Settings separately for each Game Profile.
Make sure you are in the correct Game profile in the YOUR GAMES section.
Scroll down to the Addon Settings section and find the AUTO INSTALL UPDATES option.
If you want the Twitch App to auto update your addons, make sure this is toggled to purple. If you do not want the Twitch App to auto update your addons, then make sure it is toggled to faded.
For the Twitch App to be able to auto-update your addons, you do need to have the Twitch App running. It can be in a minimized state, but it has to be running.
Some people prefer to use their visual real estate to the fullest possible extent. Because of this the Twitch App allows for you to use a compact mode that will hide the installed version from under the addons name.
For those of you worried about hiding this information, there is a column that contains this information to the right of the addon's name.
Compact Mode
you will want to be in the General tab.
Scroll to COMPACT ADDON MODE. Make sure this is toggled so it is purple if you want it to use compact mode, and toggled to faded if you do not.
Click on DONE and there you go!
You may need to restart the Twitch App for the changes to display.
The Twitch App checks for addon updates every hour by default. If you would like it to check more or less often you can set it to do so.
you will want to be in the General tab.
Scroll to UPDATES. Then choose how often you would like the Twitch App to check for updates from the drop-down.
Click on DONE and there you go!
There are more options for each individual addon that you may use.
Open the Twitch App, and click on the Mods section, and select your game (i.e., Rift, WoW, Wildstar, TESO, TSW, WoT, etc.).
Locate the addon/mod you want to check the options of, and right click on it to bring up the menu.
Many of these options allow you to troubleshoot possible issues with a specific addon:
Reinstall - Will reinstall the addon. Good to try if you have a corrupted addon.
Delete Settings - Will delete the settings for the addon. Good to try if you have a corrupted setting.
Report a Bug - Opens up to where you can report a bug with the addon/mod to the author of the addon/mod.
Some settings are good for setting up your addons the way you would like:
Release Type - Will install the version you specify (released, beta or alpha)
Auto Install Updates - Will automatically install any update released for the mod/addon (Twitch App must be open for this to work).
The Twitch app has some information about your addon/mod showing. Did you know there are more options, in which you can customize the information displayed about the addons/mods you have installed?
Open the Twitch App, and click on the Mods section, and select your game (i.e., Rift, WoW, Wildstar, TESO, TSW, WoT, etc.).
Right click on the columns' titles (ADDON, STATUS, LATEST VERSION, etc.). This will bring up a menu of other columns you can add or remove.
You can use these columns to sort your addons/mods as well. For example, you want them sorted alphabetically click on the ADDON title until you see an arrow. You can toggle ascending or descending based on the direction the arrow is pointing.
