由於中文裡常用「覺得」二字來問別人的看法或表達自己的看法
所以很多人在英文裡就把它直譯為 feel (感覺)
而出現像 How do you feel about the plan? 這樣的句子
或甚至在表達看法時也常會說 I feel ……
但一般要問別人對某人或某事物的看法或意見時
應該要用 How do you like …? 或 What do you think of / about …? 這兩個句型才對
很多人的問題是沒有把疑問詞和後面的動詞背好
然後就出現 How do you think about …? 這樣錯誤的組合
注意，當你用 think (of / about…) 這個動詞時，疑問詞要用 what 而不能用 how
(你的看法「如何」或你的看法「怎麼樣」是中文的講法
英文裡不能直譯用 how )
要表達自己的看法或意見，也該用 I think …… 才對
How do you like …? 這個句型也是在問對方的看法
大家不要又把它直接譯為「你有多喜歡…？」
所以當你和老外一起吃飯，而他問你 How do you like the food? 時
你要答的是它好吃、難吃、普通、太油膩……等答案
雖然也可以答 I love it. / I don’t like it at all. 這種答案
但那是因為這也是一種看法和評斷
並不是因為 How do you like …? 的意思是「你有多喜歡…？」
大家不要誤會了
另外，雖然 How do you feel about …? 這個句型的確是存在的
但它是用來問別人對於某人或事物的「直覺」或「情緒」
不是用來問理性的看法或意見
而且因為用的是 feel 這個字，答案就會是代表情緒或直覺的字眼
比如人家若問 What do you think of the plan?
你可以回答 I think it’s too complicated. (我覺得它太複雜了。)
或 (I think) It’s a waste of time. (它根本是浪費時間。)
或 It’s perfect for our goal. (它非常符合我們的目標。)
這些都是經過某種理性評估產生的看法和判斷
可是如果人家問 How do you feel about the plan?
那麼他要的答案就不是你的理性評估，而是你的直覺或情緒
你的回答就會是：I’m worried that it may not work. (我擔心它可能不會成功。)
或 I have a really good feeling about it. (我有很好的預感它會成功。)
或 I’m not sure if it’s the best plan we can come up with. (我不確定這是我們能想出的最佳方案。) / (我們應該還能想出更好的方案。)
如果把 How do you feel about…? 用在問對一個人的感覺
像是 How do you feel about Tom?
意思通常是對此人有無戀愛的好感，或是直覺上覺得他是好人還是壞人
