Hello climbers!It's been a very long time since any sort of update to Kreedz Climbing... I've been very very busy in real life, and also working on the workshop!To start, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who plays Kreedz Climbing despite the lack of development - The dedicated and loving players who keep this game alive are what motivates me to keep going!Another thank you definitely needs to go out to the communities running the servers - in no particular order - Ethereal-Movement, Xtreme-Jumps, KZ-Rush and the Surf Gateway, along with everyone else who hosts a server. Without you, there would be nowhere to play!You're probably most wondering about the fabled Workshop and what's going on with it - Progress has been steady, and a lot of the core mechanics behind it are already in place. A workshop uploader tool exists, and successful downloads of maps have happened!The workshop will allow players to upload their maps, and servers to easily download them, all with minimal effort! Adding a workshop map to your server will be as simple as adding it's ID number to your maplist, and the server will handle all downloading and updating as needed. When you join a server running a workshop map, you will download seamlessly. This eliminates the need for server fastdls for your maps!Kreedz Climbing's workshop is initially envisioned to only accept maps (.bsp files). In order to use custom content in your maps, you'll have to embed it into the map (a tool will come with the workshop uploader to allow you to do this, an alternative is using VIDE or Pakrat). One of the best things that could happen to the game is easy access to custom maps and I'm very excited to be reporting on this!On another topic, development strategies, before recently I had a different idea on how my contributions to the game should be released... Specifically I focused on completing features entirely and polishing before releasing it. This strategy did give quality content, but also had huge delays which were no fun for the game's playerbase - I've changed my mind now though, and I believe that releasing functional (but perhaps not so pretty) updates will allow us to see much faster progress on the game! Polishing and feature addition can happen incrementally.So once the basic features of the Workshop are implemented, they will be released to be played around with, and we'll add onto them as we go. I think this will be a lot more fun than waiting around for perfection!Again, thank you so much for your time as you play this game, we couldn't have gotten to where we are today without you. Kreedz Climbing lives!

An update for Kreedz Climbing has been released. This patch will be automatically applied by Steam within 15 minutes. You may have to restart Steam for the update to immedietely begin downloading.Please note that when a patch is released, the currently running servers will be out of date and won't show up on your server browser anymore. Once they update they will appear again!Changes: Altered the way LJ stats handles missing the landing block - Now the LJ stats will instantly calculate your jump distance once you fall under the Z level of your start point, instead of waiting for you to hit the ground. Hopefully it's finally working properly, thank you to everyone who keeps bringing this to our attention! Added the ability to move the climb timer around the screen:kz_cl_hud_timer_xpos and kz_cl_hud_timer_ypos. Added an option to disable the hook sounds of other players (kz_cl_hook_sounds_3p). Also in the advanced options. Added an option to disable the weapon sounds of other players (kz_cl_weapon_sounds_3p). Also in the advanced options. Updated the Russian translation with some missing strings. Thanks for the help!Bug fixes: Re-wrote the way the art tool handles it's effects. This should fix numerous issues relating to the beam and halo when watching another player in normal gameplay or spectator mode.

There are single discipline and multiple discipline courses!- 120+ maps to choose fromThe sky is the limit in Kreedz mapping. Natural, rural, suburban, city, space, surreal. Each map is totally unique and may even have multiple courses!- Single and mixed discipline coursesOne of the coolest things in Kreedz Climbing is the mix. Some maps may have one course, others have many and the combinations of disciplines and special abilities are limitless. A single course may be one discipline, but may also require mastering many of them to beat.- Tag Arena Multiplayer game modeSimilar to Hide and Seek, Seekers chase the Runners! Special pick-ups are available to the Runners to help them keep away from the extremely mobile Seekers who have Powerjump and the special Seeker Vision to their advantage. The chasing can get VERY wild!- Create your own mapsUsing Valve's own Hammer world editor, you can create maps for the game. Kreedz Climbing has a very large amount of special functions and entities ready for you that are completely unique to the game. There are a million ways to make a map. If you are openly creative, mapping could be your thing because in Kreedz Climbing you can create anything!- Earn Medals to unlock fun itemsAs you beat maps while on a server or alone, you earn medals. These medals allow you to buy special fun items from the Special Item Shop. When your timer is not running, you can goof around in the map all you like, look for short cuts and special jumps and use these items to assist you.- Compete alone or with friends onlineKreedz Climbing is flexible. Play it alone, play it alone with friends around, or play it with friends. Co-op maps must be played with 2-4 players using boosting and same time puzzle actions. What is Kreedz Climbing (KZMOD)?
Kreedz Climbing (aka KZMOD) is a Full conversion Half-Life 2 modification for the Source engine. The whole premise of the game revolves around getting from point A to point B in the shortest time possible, in a linear route that can include any of the mod's 15 game modes(disciplines) from jumping on blocks to a death trap race, or a mix of disciplines in a single course. KZMOD is a very unique game - based off of the very popular "kz" maps from Counter-Strike 1.6, KZMOD is what some would call a '3d puzzle/platform' game, involving no combat or violence whatsoever. It is a 'sport' type game, where players compete for the best times amongst the game's 400+ courses.
Competition can get fierce. A mere second can make the difference between winning or losing, as the game will track your scores with a 'toplist' function when you play online. Toplist shows you your best times on any existing map course and compare them to those of other players in a smooth web interface from within the game when a server decides to utilize the feature. Kreedz Climbing is enjoyable for players as well as level designers, or for those that just like to socialize in a casual game environment.
One of the best parts of KZMOD is the creative freedom that level designers have. Any environment or scene you can think of can be incorporated into KZMOD for a discipline course, and we already have multiple maps spanning across many different environments - an asteroid belt, a beanstalk, a massive castle, realistic industry, or nature maps and the list goes on. Imagine a rat style map in a kitchen like the famous one in CS 1.6, or a freeze time view of many accidents waiting to happen or a storyline single player adventure, whatever you imagine can become a KZMOD reality. Combined with impressive looking environments and a massive list of versatile game modes, there are endless possibilities for designers. KZMOD had the most maps upon release than any other mod released for the Source engine and most likely still does. The sky is the limit and in this game, it shows where a single map can have up to 2048 different courses mixed with 15 different game modes in it.
Get involved in the challenging, non-violent atmosphere of KZMOD. It's a rare thing these days and can be a nice break from other games. If you like a personal challenge in your game, rather than being set up to always win it, Kreedz Climbing is right up your alley.
It's just gamer vs. gravity...because gaming needed a change.

Reach the end of the map with Double-Ducks 2-man Cooperation -Players become solid and need to use boosting and teamwork to win Kzmod Soccer Pong Connect Four
NOTE: Any desired combination of these game modes can be found in any map or even in one single course which opens up doors for massive amounts of free creativity and new game modes. The combination of a main Discipline and a(or many) minor one(s) can be a very interesting experience. Imagine a jump map with bungee, surf and bhop parts, and this mixed with flare aim and death traps.
