Commonwealth Stamps
Founded as an independent dealer in 1970. Originally it traded as Stewart Stamps a mail order company specializing in British Commonwealth stamps. Stewart Stamps was founded in 1946 by my father Samuel who returned from the army in 1945 with the biggest sack of Malayan stamps you ever did see! In later years my introduction to this great hobby was to soak them off and heaven help me if I damaged any! From that moment on I was totally hooked
We Feel that above all collecting should be affordable and fun! Our aim is to try and offer a range of stamps. Not just the expensive items. We list items from 5 pence. The basis for that notion is: I know, even today, in my own collections, there are only two kinds of gaps Those I may never be able to afford and those I could buy today if only I could source them. When we break down a collection we list every item. So, we offer a great place to look for that elusive stamp. We hope you enjoy our site.
ADDITIONAL INFO
We are PTS an IPDA Members so you can depend on us to be fair in all our dealings. Please Take your Time and enjoy your stay.

It's time to make Valentines! This fun box is from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog and I love that it's big enough to hold a gift card -- and hold the new Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes also from the Occasions Catalog. There's a brand new video showing this bundled set of stamps and matching framelits in action at the end of this post -- so keep reading!
I die cut the heart window -- and then used our foil acetate to go inside. The paper accents are the gorgeous Painted with Love Specialty Designer Paper -- lots of foil accents. It reminds me of 1970s wallpaper -- and a little of the prints goes a long way. Here's the small note card I made to go inside. A gift card fits in the envelope as well or just tuck it in the box along with some chocolate of course!
And because the paper is nice and sturdy -- almost a card stock weight -- I made a set from the paper itself.
Stampin' Up! shared a new video today that solves the mystery of what the two little half-circle framelits in the set are for: they easily let you cut tabs in a panel to hold a gift card. Watch and see that idea. (I had thought it was just to cut the divot at the top of the box -- but I found it easiest to make that with a half-inch circle punch). I love that they make tabs for the gift card!
If you're looking at this in an email, .
Look below for the products used in these projects -- which all click through to my online store.
Happy Valentine's Day crafting!
It may not feel like spring most places as much of the U.S. deals with a cold wave, but Stampin' Up's spring catalog has gone live today -- along with our annual Sale-a-bration promotion. Here's a quick photo of a card I made with the new Sunshine and Rainbows Stamp Set and Framelits Bundle. We will all have sunny days again!
I love all the cloud framelits for die cutting a pretty sky and the rainbow possibilities are so fun. TIP: I cut out a white circle close the same size as the largest red band and then glued each color to half of that circle and cut away the excess. Made it easier to build my rainbow. A little gold thread symbolizes the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and inside, another touch of gold thanks to glimmer paper ties the theme together.
Now here are links to the online versions of the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration Brochure.

I wanted to share a quick post to let you know you can view the list of items retiring from the current Holiday Catalog (retiring on January 2) -- and also view which items are available at a discount. .
A quick post with an easy to make Halloween treat.
Two fun size Hershey bars are wrapped with a 2-1/2& by 4& piece of the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. The tag is made with the Labels to Love stamp set and punched out with the coordinating Everyday Label Punch. (both are from Stampin' Up's Holiday Catalog)
Here's a look at the back of one of the tags so you can see how I layered on the punched out Pumpkin Pie card stock. (FYI: that easy streak of Pumpkin Pie on the tag is made using our new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers which go on sale Nov. 1! I stamped the tag with Memento Black Ink so I could use the alcohol marker.)
These are quick and easy and fun to make to give to co-workers. Last side view.
Happy Halloween!
This dressed up version using Stampin' Up!'s cute Mini Pizza Boxes as the base has a surprise inside -- candy plus a shadowbox feature that lets the recipient then use it as a desk decoration. I changed up a few details (which I'll explain below) -- but I got this great idea from fellow demonstrator Susan Campfield and you can see .
Once you take off the belly band with the Halloween label attached, and take out the candy -- you can see the tree image with a stamped owl through the die cut window. I made my box with the decorations attached so that it stands up balanced on that little tab that sticks out the front edge - it gives it a nice slant almost like a bike kickstand.
Here is the view of the inside -- which is a coated, almost plasticized white surface that is food safe. The tree is one of the paper designs in the Spooky Night Designer Paper. There are 16 on one sheet and you get two sheets of that print. Cut them apart and the owl in the coordinating Spooky Cat stamp set can be stamped right on the branch. I then layered that over a 3-1/8& square of Basic Gray card stock to finish it off.
Here's a view from the top: I loved Susan's idea to stamp and punch a greeting that can be seen as the box is standing up as a decoration.
A few helpful details and then clickable photos of the supplies are below (the punch and framelits can be bought as part of a discounted bundle with coordinating stamps so you will see them both ways):
To die cut the window, I used the Layering Circle Framelits and you want to have the framelit against the plastic side (so the inside). I rolled it through the Big Shot just until it cleared the framelit then reversed it and rolled back through so it would not bend the rest of the box. The framelit cannot quite cut through if you start with it against the smoother outside.
The cat is punched out of the printed Spooky Night Designer Paper and the pumpkins are all die cut from one of the paper sheets with the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlets Dies. No fussy cutting needed - gotta love that!
I decided the white box needed some color so I sponged on Canjun Craze ink while the box was flat. I was able to test how the color would look by using the circle I cut out of the box as my test subject.
The layering circle framelits let you cut the Cajun Craze card stock frame to finish off the die cut window. Just layer a smooth circle inside of a scalloped one as you die cut.
A 3 inch square of window plastic is adhered inside the die cut window. Just a little SNAIL adhesive of a glue dot in each corner sticks just fine to the coated inside.
The belly band strip is 9-3/4& by 3/4& wrapped around and the ends adhered with the label then covering the seam.
Happy fall crafting. And you have not subscribed to my newsletter, sign up through the subscription box here on my blog as I am about ready to start sending out my free 12 Weeks of Christmas series.
First: as someone who used to live and work in Houston, TX, my heart has been heavy this past week as the devastation has unfolded across Texas and now into other states. I continue to pray for those impacted and know it will be a long road to recovery. It has been heartening to see the best of our desire to reach out and help others on display under very trying circumstances.
September 1 marks the launch of Stampin' Up's new Holiday Catalog. Because we could pre-order in August as demonstrators, I've been playing with some of the new items, including the beautiful Christmas Quilt bundle of a photopolymer stamp set and coordinating Quilt Builder Framelits for die-cutting. These are so much fun!
Here is the first card I made with the set. I used markers to ink up the little tree stamp, stamped the stitched border around it and then cut it out with the coordinating framelit. The Garden Green paper 3& square behind the stamped and die-cut quilt star focal point is from the Quilted Christmas set of 48 sheets of 6& by 6& paper -- and it's been embossed with a stitched pattern using the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (I love how this folder makes anything you use it on look like it was quilted all over and you can use it with either side up for either an embossed or de-bossed look).
Here's the detail on the inside -- and a close up of the spool detail. The Lemon Lime Twist card stock spool was die cut and then wrapped with Whisper White twine. The Garden Green card stock needle is even made using a framelit from the die set! (I put Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of the card stock before die-cutting the needle to make it easy to peel and stick that to the twine layer).
The graphic list of all the supplies is at the end of this post (I listed the quilt stamps and framelits individually and also as bundle so you can see more detail in the small images -- but the bundle is the best way to buy as you get 10% off both items that way). These quilted products are ones I will cherish and use for years to come because of my life-long love of sewing.
Now on to the amazing Holiday Catalog information. If you want to view Holiday products and purchase as you view,

I also want you to be able to view and download the PDF version of the catalog. I love opening the PDF link in the web browser on my iPad and then saving it into iBooks so I can flip through it anytime. .
I am always happy to answer questions, so get in touch if you have them.
It's time to share the templates for the most popular item on my blog: the CD Calendars that you can print, cut and stamp for 2018!
Below are the links for the 2018 CD Calendar Templates, which are available free for your use and the template itself is not to be sold. You are welcome to sell your stamped calendars in keeping with any Angel Policy of the stamps you use to decorate them. Each month's PDF will have two of that month's calendar.
(click each month's link to download the savable PDF):
Here is how I handle the trimming after I print them on our Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock. The goal is to trim off the right side so its margin is equal to the left margin. (the final calendar sheet is approx. 4 & 3/4 inch wide, but that width can vary based on how wide the interior of your CD case is.) TIP: Make sure it fits inside your particular cases before you cut them all. Once you have cut the width, you then cut the card stock in half vertically and each calendar page is 5 & 1/2 inches tall. Again, adjust as needed based on your cases.
Here are a couple of sources for the clear plastic CD Calendar cases (with a special swing back lid that acts as an easel).
The beautiful June 2017 flamingo design in the photo above was stamped by my fellow demonstrator and friend Beth Daniels who uses these templates every year. .
Enjoy making calendars and if you have questions, leave a comment.
It's time for some new goodies. (And speaking of new, for my fans of the CD Calendar templates, I will be posting my 2017-18 templates tomorrow). The new catalog is live and ordering from it starts at 2 PM today, EDT. Here is a link to view and download the digital version of the new catalog -- I love putting it in the iBooks section of my iPad!
Here's a fun notecard I made using the new Eastern Palace Suite and two of the new In Colors: Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide. Plus the notecard itself is the brand new Vanilla cards and envelopes (yeah) and the die cut panel is our new Thick Vanilla Card Stock.
The Eastern Palace Thinlits are so fun to use. I am in love with the variety of things you can make with these stamps and coordinating dies. The way the thinlits and framelits layer together are very fun -- and provide countless creative opportunities. The center element is made by layering three of the thinlits onto the 3& by 5& thick vanilla card stock panel at one time on top of the magnetic platform. That holds them in place. Once you have these thinlits and look carefully at the back of a few of the circle elements, there are thin etched lines -- and lining those up when die cutting them allows you to line up the designs so that the design elements connect to each other. (So on the card above, the straight bars on the circle element with the green behind it line up with the arrow shapes in the outer circle with the fig behind them thanks to lining up those etched lines. Same with how the points on the center circle point to the triangles on that green layer. I used a Sharpie marker on the faint etched straight lines to make them easier to line up.)
The gold glimmer card stock showing through the center was punched out with a 1& circle punch and glued to the back. Then a die cut circle in the new Tidal Tide In Color is glued over that. The Fresh Fig shows through from the back when you layer the die cut Vanilla layer onto the 3-1/4& by 5& Fig Layer. And I love how the current cotton ribbon with the metallic stripe goes so well with this bundle.
Cutting out all of the elements from card stock helped me explain what the thinlits do -- and how four of them stay connected to the card stock or can be snipped free. The ability to layer place some of the pieces inside of others -- and then snip out the largest element -- or cut around it with one of our circle thinlits -- mean you can make your own doilies.
Enjoy browsing through the new catalog -- and back tomorrow with those calendar templates.
First an update on why I've been absent from posting here. I have been stamping and meeting in-person with my monthly stamp clubs and demonstrator team -- so only my &virtual world stamping& has been slow this year! And that's because of the need to put family first as I coordinate care for my aging mother and juggle the demands of having both our high school age daughter and college age son at home. Lots of juggling to say the least. I hope to get on a better blogging schedule! And I've had lots of emails asking about CD calendar templates: I plan to post the version for 2018 this month so stay tuned.
I wanted to share this fun treat bag that uses the current Cool Treats bundle from the Occasions Catalog. While the stamps and matching framelits will carry over into the new Annual Catalog, they will not be at the discounted bundle pricing like they are through May 31, so get them now at a discount. I've got photo links to products used on this project at the end of this post.
I love this bag made using our 3& by 6& gusseted cello bags. It's a variation of an idea I shared during the 2016 &12 Weeks of Christmas Projects& that I email out. (Be sure you're on my newsletter list to get the 2017 Christmas series plus all my monthly project emails). Here's another view with the designer paper flap lifted up -- the die cut cone was made twice and adhered back-to-back so it looks finished inside and out.
And the stamped fudge coating is then coated with our Fine Tip Glue Pen for a clear dimensional look that also makes it very easy to just drop on the sequins and die-cut sprinkles while the glue is wet! Here's a close up. The clear glue dries smooth and is not sticky so it's perfect for adding clear dimension to smaller areas.
Here are the measurements and directions for the bag part: From your choice of Designer Series Paper, cut a 2-7/8” by 9” strip. Score at 1”, 3” and 7-3/4” along long edge. Fold all score lines inward and insert into cellophane bag with the 1” & 3” score lines as the base and the top flap sticking out to fold over the bag. TIP: check to see which way the seam on the bottom of the bag wants to naturally fold and insert your paper so that seam is folding toward what will be the back then the finished bag will stand up easily. Putting the candy or gift into the bag is what will help hold the paper in place. Decorate the flap. In this case I added a greeting and the die-cut cone and then clipped it shut with the cute retiring Bow Paper Clip.
Now here's a peak at the cover of the new annual catalog that starts June 1.
While I'm excited about ideas from the new catalog (which will post in a digital version here on my blog June 1) -- I want to be sure you get anything that is retiring before it's too late. .
