Surface Pro 3 vs Surface Pro 4

The Surface Pro 4 follows the Surface Pro 3 in very much the same style but includes some subtle upgrades that we’ve listed for you below.
The first thing to be aware of is that although the external dimensions are largely unchanged the screen size has increased to 12.3-inches (from 12.0 inches) and now accommodates 2736 x 1824 pixels and a new co-processor from Microsoft that handles touch and pen input. At this stage we don’t have data on maximum brightness, color accuracy or color space coverage.
There’s a new stylus that now includes 6+ months of battery life, can be magnetically attached to the frame of the Surface Pro 4 and has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity (up from 256.) The pen also has interchangeable tips for different styles of usage and friction feedback and an electronic ‘eraser’ on the top. The digitizer technology is made by N-trig, as on the Surface Pro 3.
Inside the Surface Pro there are a range up changes. The processor range now includes a Core M3 option at the entry-level which could bring longer battery life along with cooler and quieter, possibly silent in most use cases. The Core i5 CPU, an Intel Core i5-6300U with HD 520 graphics and Intel Core i7-6650U with HD 540 graphics are from the Skylake generation – two generations on from the Haswell generation in the Surface Pro 3. Higher efficiency and clock rates, an improved GPU architecture and other features such as hardware audio processing, an imaging processor and real-time video encoder will enhance the multimedia features.
The battery capacity has been reduced from 42 Wh to 38.2 Wh – a 10% reduction – which should leave the Core i5 and Core i7 with very similar battery life to the previous models. It’s possible that the Core M3 version will offer improved battery life in some scenarios. Video playback, for example.
The port selection hasn’t changed between the two models and the Surface Pro 3 dock works, as promised, with the Surface Pro 4.
There’s no NFC, wireless charging, WiGig or USB-C / 3.1 support on either models. Both models include active cooling using a fan although the Core m3 variant of the Surface Pro 4 has it removed for totally silent operation. There’s a new thermal solution in the Surface Pro 4 which reduces performance degradation under load.
There’s a new Type Cover with mechanical keys and 40% larger trackpad but this is backward compatible with the Surface Pro 3 so it can’t be considered as an advantage for the Pro 4. The same is true for the new Surface dock that also works with both models.
Weight is slightly reduced to 766 gm on the Surface Pro 4 with Core M CPU and 786 grams with the Core i5 and Core i7 processors. (It was 800 grams on the Surface Pro 3.) That lower weight on the Core M model indicdate that the fan is removed but that is yet to be confirmed.
Both Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 run Windows 10 but as the Pro 4 was designed with Windows 10 there’s a possibility that components and drivers were configured to be better optimized with the new OS. That’s only something that will be seen in tests.
No technical details are available for the SSD and Memory speeds but we’ll add that below when we have it. Maximum storage available on the Surface Pro 4 is 1 TB. (512 GB on the Surface Pro 3) and the entry-level model comes with 128 GB storage (was 64 GB on the Surface Pro 3.)
The rear camera gets a boost to
8 MP auto-focus and the front is now a 5 MP model that can be used with Windows Hello security.
Finally the pricing is slightly higher than the Surface Pro 3 with a starting price of $899 for the Core M with 128 GB SSD, 4 GB RAM and Windows 10 Pro. The stylus is included.

前瞻科技报道10月7日消息，在10月6日纽约新品发布会上，微软正式推出了全新一代Surface Pro 4。Surface Pro
4相比Surface Pro
3，外观整体变化不大，但屏幕尺寸由12英寸增至12.3英寸，分辨率则由升级至，像素密度为267PPI，机身厚度仅为8.4mm，成为最轻薄的Core
PC和最轻薄的Surface。除了这些肉眼可见的变化，Surface Pro
4真正的亮点其实还是那些不可见的改变，包括CPU、触控笔、壳等均有重大更新，号称&平板界的楷模&可谓当之无愧。
微软负责Windows和设备的执行副总裁特里&梅尔森(Terry Myerson)在接受媒体采访时并不希望外界将Surface Pro 4的竞品锁定在苹果iPad Pro上，而更希望与苹果Macbook Air正面交锋。在发布会上，微软也是直接将Macbook Air作为对比产品，表示Surface Pro 4在性能上要比Surface Pro 3快30%，比MacBook Air快50%。
但考虑到苹果iPad
Pro为摆脱iPad的颓势，选择向被库克嘲笑为&和烤的组合&的微软Surface系列致敬，不仅将屏幕尺寸升级至12.9英寸，同时也支持手写笔Apple
Pencil和新型键盘盖，再配合iOS 9的多任务功能，势与微软Surface在平板电脑领域竞争，因此在不考虑Surface
Pro系列更偏向工作平板电脑，而iPad Pro定位于移动平台产品本质属性上的差异，我们不妨将它与Surface Pro
4比比看，同时文中也会涉及Surface Pro 4与Surface Pro 3、苹果MacBook
Air之间的对比，以分析其优势与不足，为用户提供购机提供一定指导。
外形及便携性：微软Surface领先
Surface Pro 4看起来和Surface Pro
3十分相像，但屏幕尺寸由12英寸增加至12.3英寸，屏幕比例3:2，像素密度由216PPI升级至267PPI，机身尺寸则由原来的11.50 x 7.93 x
0.36英寸(187 x 267 x 8.7mm)调整为11.50 x 7.93 x 0.33英寸(292.10 x 201.42 x 8.4
mm)，。此外，Surface Pro 4机身厚度降至8.4mm，机身重量则从Surface Pro
3的622-887克降至766-786克(不同版本重量不同)，成为最轻薄的Surface。
MacBook Air，其采用13.3英寸屏，分辨率，机身尺寸为12.8 x 8.94 x0.68英寸，机身重量为900克;而iPad Pro采用12.9英寸屏，4：3的屏幕比例，分辨率为，像素密度达264PPI，机身尺寸则为12.0 x 8.68x0.27英寸(307mm&222mm&6.9mm)，重713g。
从以上参数来看，Surface Pro 4、Surface Pro 3、MacBook Air以及iPad Pro在重量方面差异不大，即使算上键盘，尺寸更小的Surface 3、Surface Pro 4相较MacBook Air还是有优势，再考虑到几款电脑在长、宽方面的差异，微软的Surface Pro系列在便携性上还是领先苹果一筹。
苹果iPad Pro
至于屏幕方面，MacBook Air和Surface Pro 3落后于Surface Pro 4及iPad Pro，尤其是MacBook
Air，其11.6英寸和13英寸版本的屏幕分辨率分别为像素及像素，均为较落后的配置，靠近屏幕会比较容易看到像素点。在4K都已推出、1080P全高清分辨率手机满地跑的时代，Surface
Pro 4及iPad Pro无疑更受用户欢迎。
及使用形态：微软Surface更实用
除了MacBook Air，iPad Pro的使用形态与Surface Pro 3、Surface Pro
4已经非常相似，均配备键盘盖及手写笔等。而此次发布的Surface Pro 4，在Type
cover键盘盖上有重大更新，颜色相比老款要更鲜艳，且更轻更薄更耐用，触控板使用了玻璃材质，相比旧款面积提升40%，手感更好。此外，Type
cover还添加指纹识别模块，键盘整入背光灯，更加实用。
Surface Pro 4还配备了全新Surface Pen手写笔，支持1024级压感，自带&橡皮擦&功能，其中，双击可打开OneNote，长按则会唤醒小娜，Surface Pen可吸附在Surface Pro 4一侧，虽不支持充电但可使用一年，并新增土豪金配色。
而触控板是苹果产品的传统优势，面积大，同时采用玻璃材质响应灵敏，采用塑料材质触控板的Surface Pro 3与改进版的Surface Pro
4，苹果的MacBook、iPad Pro不具备任何优势，如果对这一块功能比较重视，建议用户可在后三款产品中进行选择。
再谈一下iPad Pro新配备的触控笔&&Apple
Pencil，虽然有人认为这是对乔布斯的背叛(乔布斯曾经说过：&如果你看到触控笔，那么就是搞砸了。&)，但从提高用户体验的角度考虑，iPad
Pro加入触控笔等附件无疑是顺应了市场的需求。
而Apple Pencil虽借鉴了微软手写笔，但其使用形态更像一只蓝牙压感笔，笔冠上配有一个充电接口，充电15秒使用30分钟，充电6分钟电池全部充满，可使用12个小时。且仅支持iPad Pro，售价则为99美元，约合人民币631元人民币。相比Surface Pro 3、Surface Pro 4所配备的触控笔，无论是在功能，续航还是价格上，均不占优势。
最后要谈的还有接口方面的问题，别看它不起眼，但其会对用户体验造成相当大的影响。此次发布的Surface Pro 4所配备的全新扩展坞支持四个USB
3.0接口， 两个4K DisplayPort接口以及以太网口，可谓十分的实用。前代产品Surface Pro
3接口也十分丰富，除了接口和键盘磁吸接口外，它还配有标准的USB 3.0接口、mini DP接口，磁吸式的充电接口和TF卡槽。
而iPad Pro，除了耳机接口和键盘的磁吸接口，从上到下仅有底部的Lightning这一个充电接口。MacBook
Air作为更为传统的笔记本，表现稍微好一点，拥有独立和两个USB
3.0接口、一个迅雷2接口。但从提高生产力的角度考虑，还是希望苹果能引入专用扩展坞这类的配件。
硬件和性能：各有千秋
硬件部分是大家在购机时最常进行比较的部分，但也是最令大家头疼的部分。Surface Pro 4采用了英特尔第六代Intel酷睿处理器，可选Core
m3、Core i5/i7，其中m3款HD graphics 51，i5版搭配HD graphics 520，i7搭配Iris
graphics显卡，具体型号未公布但相信应该是4.5W超低压版和15W低压版，均为双核心四线程，整合核芯显卡HD
515/520/540，12/24/48个执行单元，i7的还有64MB eDRAM缓存。
Surface Pro 4内存为4GB/8GB/16GB LPDDR3，固态硬盘分128GB、256GB、512GB、1TB(PCI-E 3.0 x4 M.2)多个版本。
而iPad Pro则搭载苹果A9X处理器，性能号称达到A8X的近两倍，能够流畅运行iOS 9的分屏多任务等功能。内存暂未正式公布，存储则分32GB版和128GB版可选。
Surface Pro 3则搭载酷睿i3、i5或i7处理器，4GB/8GB内存、64GB/128GB/256GB/512GB硬盘。在此前外媒的测试中，酷睿i5版本的Geekbench 3的多核得分为5665分，而iPad Air 2则为4000分左右。由此推断，i7版本Surface 3 Pro的性能与iPad Pro旗鼓相当。
至于MacBook Air，其搭载英特尔Broadwell核心、14nm工艺的处理器，外媒跑分测试结果显示，其单线跑分成绩为2866分，多线跑分成绩为5723分，性能领先同门MacBook。此外，采用8GB运行内存，128GB、256GB、512GB内置存储。
电池续航：iPad Pro更持久
Surface Pro 4电池号称可支持视频连续播放时间超过9小时，而综合国内外媒体的评测体验，MacBook Air(13英寸)的平均电池寿命则为12-13小时左右，iPad Pro的续航力，苹果官方宣传为10小时，至于Surface Pro 3，其在测试中的表现为7.5小时左右。
售价：微软Surface更具性价比
Surface Pro 4已于今日(10月7日)启动预售，10月26日正式上市，根据CPU、内存及存储等方面的差异，共提供7款供消费者选择，售价从899美元-2699美元不等。此外，常用附件Type Cover键盘保护套售价129美元，Dock 扩展坞网上报价在1000元人民币以上，也就是说，你要入手一套完整的Surface Pro 4，至少要花费1000美元左右。
MacBook Air，11英寸版目前的报价在左右，13英寸版则售元。
Surface Pro
3的版本则比较多，各版本售价情况具体如下：i3处理器，4GB内存，64GB存储售价5288元;i5处理器，4GB内存，128GB存储售价7388元(京东6888元);i5处理器，8GB内存，256GB存储售价9688元;i7处理器，8GB内存，256GB存储售价9488元;i7处理器，8GB内存，512GB存储售价11888元。(注：因i3版微软官网疑似停售，其价格信息来自京东商城)
至于iPad Pro，根据日媒的报道，其最快要在11月份才会发布，目前国行售价还未公布，还海外版售价情况如下：32GB
WiFi版本售价799美元，约合5096元人民币;128GB WiFi版本售价949美元，约合6053元人民币;128GB
WiFi+Cellular版本售价1079美元，约合6882元人民币。此外，搭配附件Apple
Pencil售价99美元，搭配键盘售价169美元，暂仅提供一种颜色。
系统对比：萝卜白菜各有所爱
说到系统，相信就是仁者见仁智者见智了，但要明确的是，iPad Pro内置的是iOS 9系统而非OS X系统，此外，如果谈到分屏多任务，Windows
10系统会比iOS 9表现更出色。
通过上述几项对比，对于究竟购买哪款产品，相信大家心里已有一个基本的判断。从属性上来说，iPad
Pro作为移动产品平台，更能满足消费者对外观及娱乐方面的需求，但如果要论办公类商务平板市场，Surface Pro 4及Surface Pro
4在系统、接口、续航乃至附件等方面无疑更有优势。而MacBook
Air，其宽屏幕边框、粗糙的屏幕在平板电脑市场中已经有些过时，但硬件配置还是足够够用。至于Surface Pro 3，觉得Surface Pro
4太贵了，这款前代产品性价比还是相当不错的，选择也足够的多。
